Third-in-line to the British throne, Prince Harry, on the heels of passing his basic helicopter training course, has been selected to train as an Apache helicopter pilot. Harry cited this next step in his military career as "a huge honor." In a statement he said, "To be honest, I think it will be one of the biggest challenges in my life so far... I am very determined, though, as I do not want to let down people who have shown faith in my ability to fly this aircraft on operations." Army Air Corps commanders took into account Harry's skills and deemed him most fit to fly the Apache helicopter. Apaches have been designed to destroy tanks, and have been used widely in Afghanistan. Harry’s new training will further ready him to return to the front lines there, a wish about which he has been vocal in the past.
