Pub ‘Held Black Couple at Gunpoint’

A Florida pub owner has been accused of holding a young couple at gunpoint, after the woman declined a drink and tried to leave after a perceived snub. Kayla Davis, 21, and boyfriend Darien Elwin celebrated his 20th birthday at the Dragon British Pub in Orlando. After Davis ordered a drink, she says owner Kim Bruns brought it to her with a warning—“I’m watching you, and you better not give any drinks to minors”—which “felt weird and racist a little bit.” She declined the drink and tried to leave, at which point Bruns allegedly told others to keep them in the pub and showered them with racial slurs while pointing a handgun. The owner is denying any wrongdoing. “It’s all false accusations,” he said.
