Publisher to Investigate 'Three Cups of Tea'

Greg Mortenson’s publisher has announced that it will be reviewing the accuracy of his memoir, Three Cups of Tea, following a 60 Minutes investigation that appeared to discredit some of the book’s central stories. Viking, which published the book, said that it will be going over the incidents with Mortenson. “60 Minutes is a serious news organization and in the wake of the report, Viking plans to carefully review the materials with the author,” the publishing house told The New York Times. Sunday’s 60 Minutes report raised questions about the validity of Mortenson’s experiences in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the financial operations of his non-profit organization, the Central Asia Institute.
