A firefighter from Brownwood Texas, died Thursday night after falling 20 feet from the stands at a Texas Rangers game. Shannon Stone, 39, tumbled over the left-field railing after lurching too far to catch a ball thrown up by outfielder Josh Hamilton during the second inning. Other fans seated nearby said that Stone was urging Hamilton to throw him the foul ball. Sadly, Stone's young son was with his father at the game and witnessed the accident. Rangers president and CEO Nolan Ryan said in a statement that both Hamilton and the entire Rangers team are "very heavy-hearted" about the incident and that "our thoughts and prayers are with his family."
