A 2012 songbook unofficially used by the U.S. Air Force contains songs about pedophilia, homosexuality, bestiality, and sexual violence. The book was made public during a lawsuit filing by sexual-assault victims that asks the Department of Defense to stop using convening authorities—commanders at certain levels of power—to decide whether cases will go to court martial. “This is something that is used by Air Force officers today,” retired Air Force Col. Don Christensen told Stars and Stripes. “These are the commanders who sing songs about raping women as fun.” The Air Force says it is looking into the book.
