A Chechen jihadi fighting with the Islamic State terror group is among the three men reportedly identified by Turkish officials as the assailants in Tuesday night’s deadly suicide attack at Istanbul’s airport. Local media named that suspect as Osman Vadinov, who allegedly crossed into Turkey from Raqqa, ISIS’s stronghold in Syria. The other two alleged bombers were reportedly from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. On Thursday, officials said Turkish police detained 22 people after raiding 16 locations in two cities in connection to the bombing and shooting spree at Atatürk airport. At least three of those detained are said to be foreign nationals. The death toll from the attack was also raised to 42. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said he believes ISIS was responsible for the attack on the third-busiest airport in Europe. The militant group has not claimed responsibility.
