In a “DACA talking points” memo reportedly obtained by CNN, the White House urged DREAMers to get ready for “departure from the United States.” Language contained in the memo, which was circulated to offices on Capitol Hill, was much starker than was used by Trump officials in public on Tuesday, when they announced an eventual end to President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. “The Department of Homeland Security urges DACA recipients to use the time remaining on their work authorizations to prepare for and arrange their departure from the United States—including proactively seeking travel documentation—or to apply for other immigration benefits for which they may be eligible,” the memo says.
