Top RFK Jr. Campaign Operative Allegedly Choked Woman in NYC: Report
SPIRALING
The campaign for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appears to be in even greater turmoil. Weeks after a staffer was given the boot for lying about her position and claiming she was a Donald Trump mega-fan to donors, it was revealed Thursday that a top Kennedy operative—a contractor—was arrested this weekend on allegations he choked and punched a woman in New York City, reported Mediaite, citing cops. The alleged assault took place around 5 a.m. Saturday, Mediaite reported, with cops saying Trent Pool—a consultant hired to get Kennedy on more state ballots—got into a verbal argument with a 25-year-old woman that turned violent. The incident unfolded at the ritzy Soho Grand hotel in Manhattan, where Pool was arrested on charges of assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. The unnamed woman reportedly told police that Pool choked her and then punched her in the face with a closed fist. Mediaite reported he was taken into custody without incident, and the woman refused medical attention. News of the arrest came just hours after Trump declared he wouldn’t debate Kennedy because he’s not “a serious candidate.” The Kennedy campaign told The Daily Beast in an email that Pool “tells us that the alleged incident never occurred.”
