Rick Perry's looking to get into the super-PAC game. The former presidential candidate has about $30,000 left over from his own campaign (donors asked that the majority of their money be refunded when he dropped out) and would like to use it to start a political-action committee of his very own. He filed a request with the Federal Election Commission this week. Forming PACs with leftover funds is not uncommon for former candidates, but they typically start leadership PACs, which allow them to donate directly to a particular candidate, whereas super PACs do not. Super PACs, however, welcome unlimited donations from virtually anyone, which can be spent on ads promoting their choice candidate.
