Roger Stone, a longtime confidant of President Donald Trump, will testify before the House Intelligence Committee next month in a closed-door session, Stone’s attorney said. The panel is investigating alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Stone’s attorney, Robert Buschel, said they were pushing for a public hearing but the committee declined. Stone’s alleged contacts with WikiLeaks have faced scrutiny as part of the Russia probe. John Podesta, Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign chairman, testified before the committee Tuesday, and Stone told Politico that he wants to “rebut [Podesta’s] serial lies,” adding: “I may not be able to sue a member of Congress but I sure as hell can sue the f**k out of Podesta. The claim that I had knowledge of the hacking of his email by WikiLeaks in advance is a demonstrable lie.”
