According to two people close to Mitt Romney, he decided last weekend that he wouldn't run for president in 2016 but kept the decision private until Thursday. Romney apparently had already chosen not to run for president when he spoke in Mississippi on Wednesday about combating poverty and fighting Hillary Clinton. On Thursday night, he told 10 close advisors he wouldn't run and then blasted out an email for an "update call" to be held Friday morning. Romney's son, Tagg, explained that his father was not ready for such a tough race, even though he assumed he'd win the Republican nomination.
