Mitt Romney will join as many as 300 of his wealthiest donors for a retreat this weekend in Park City, Utah, where they’ll be briefed on the campaign’s progress and fundraising projections. The group will also break into discussions on key campaign issues and, of course, do team-building exercises. Among those expected to be in attendance are potential vice-presidential candidates Bob McDonnell and Jeb Bush. So what does it take to get on the guest list for something like this? Just a donation of $150,000 or more. Many of the donors are aiming at throwing in $1 million before the election. This could be bad news for the Obama campaign: last month, it was behind Romney’s fundraising numbers by $16 million.
