Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie, two of the most successful strategists from the Bush era, are working on creating a network of organizations and policy groups which will guide Republicans back to power, capturing Congress and the White House once again. Politico reports that Rove and Gillespie believe they've been outfoxed on fundraising and organizing and intend to stop the bleeding. The new network doesn't have a name yet. Rove and Gillespie have even sought input from successful progressive leaders like John Podesta, the head of the Center for American Progress. Said one Rove associate, “Karl has always said: People call us a vast right-wing conspiracy, but we’re really a half-assed right-wing conspiracy.' Now, he wants to get more serious.”
