Sen. Marco Rubio has a message for political dissidents across the world: Come to my inauguration. In a speech to be delivered Friday, the Florida Republican is expected to invite political dissidents to his inauguration, if elected in 2016. The address will coincide Friday with Secretary of State John Kerry raising the American flag at the re-opened U.S. embassy in Havana. Cuban dissidents have not been invited to the event, which Rubio called a “slap in the face,” and are expected to meet later with Kerry. Rubio’s offer of inauguration tickets is a new addition to his foreign-policy platform, and a “symbol of solidarity between my administration and those who strive for freedom around the world,” according to excerpts from his prepared speech.
