Russia has a man in the mold of Captain Chesley Sullenberger after the pilot of a Tu-154 landed his airplane on an abandoned airfield in the middle of the forest after nearly all its equipment suddenly failed. Not one of the plane’s 72 passengers was even injured. The plane was en route from Yakutia, Siberia to Moscow. The plane was landed on the runway at the Izhma settlement in the Komi Republic on the third try.
