This Happened Last Night: Amidst Karl Rove’s meltdown and Diane Sawyer’s slurred words, Sarah Palin appeared on Fox News looking fresh off the set of 90210. There was also frosted lipgloss involved. Maybe her "hollywood makeover" is having some growing pains. [Huffington Post]
Snooki Launches Nail Polish Tonight: In case your brain needs a rest from last night’s election-induced anxiety, fear not—Snooki’s here to help. The pint-sized reality star will appear on HSN at 9pm tonight to launch her second fragrance (it’s called Snooki Couture), and a miniature range of nail polish named All that Glitters. Appropriately, the polish is made of glitter, with shades like “Money Maker and “Orange You Tan.” She’ll also shill sunglasses and bedroom slippers embellished with her name. [WWD]
M.I.A. Might Be Working With Versace: Controversial rapper M.I.A. is reportedly working on a collaborative project with Versace. The singer sat down for a symposium discussion at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art to promote her new Rizzoli book on Sunday, and revealed three Versace-themed desktop folders upon connecting her personal laptop to the museum’s projector. “Bootleg Versace,” “Versace Outlines,” and “Versace Prints,” (the latter, a lyric in her hit song “XR2”), were blown up onto a screen for the entire room to see. When asked if this meant if she was working with the brand, M.I.A. reportedly answered yes. This wouldn’t be her first stab at fashion design—in 2008 the singer made a limited-edition range of clothing that sold at covetable stores like Opening Ceremony. [Telegraph]
Keira Knightley Brought Jewels to the Anna Karenina Set: Anna Karenina costume designer Jacqueline Durran has opened up about the process behind dressing Keira Knightley’s latest period film. Fashion, as it seems, plays a key role in the film and Knightley was keen to lend a hand in its on-screen evolution. She even brought boatloads of Chanel fine jewelry to the set—probably a perk from her close relationship with the brand, of which she is a celebrity ambassador. “Never in my experience on film sets have I seen anyone with such a range of diamonds and pearls,” Durran told WWD, “But I have to say it was very useful for Keira to have at her fingertips all this fine jewelry, as Anna would. It was the aura of Anna Karenina that we were creating.” [Vogue UK]
Sayonara Vogue Hommes Japan: Condé Nast has shuttered Vogue Hommes Japan, as well as every other international edition of men’s Vogue, with the titles’ fall/winter books (currently on newsstands) apparently acting as their unplanned final issues. The news comes four years after the Anna Wintour-initiated Men’s Vogue was shuttered in the US after a three-year run. [Fashionista]
