French police have detained nine suspects in the hijacking of a car in a Saudi royal convoy last year. Between five and eight people in two BMWs carjacked the first of 10 cars, police say, and drove away with the occupants before letting them go. They made off with €250,000 (about $285,000). The attack took place in northern Paris—but the prince to whom the convoy belonged had apparently already made it to the airport by the time of the attack. Police said the thieves, who also took some “sensitive” diplomatic documents, were “obviously well-informed.”
