Pro-lifer Scott Roeder, who gunned down abortion doctor George Tiller last May, was sentenced to life in prison with possibility of parole only after 51 years and eight months. The Sedgwick County district judge could have approved Roeder for parole after 25 or 50 years, but decided to give the 52-year-old a more severe sentence due to evidence that Roeder stalked Tiller before killing him. Roeder told the court that his actions were the result of wanting to protect unborn children. “I stopped him so he could not dismember another innocent baby,” Roeder said, though abortion is legal in the state of Kansas. Roeder is headed to prison, but he may have gotten exactly what he wanted. According to ABC News, getting an abortion in Kansas has been more difficult. But Roeder wouldn't stand to be without the last word. As the judge announced his decision, Roeder said, “Baby murder is anarchy and chaos,” and as he was being led away, he shouted, “Blood of innocent babies on your hands.”
