On Friday the Supreme Court decided to temporarily block a Louisiana law that its opponents say would leave the state with only one abortion clinic. The law requires doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals. The law was enacted in 2014 but a trial judge blocked the law. It was not until a February ruling by a federal appeals court staying that motion that the law took effect.
