Twelve U.S. soldiers, who investigators say killed three Afghans at random and kept their fingers as trophies, are facing charges from the army. Five are said to have killed three Afghans on the spot, while the other seven helped the cover up the attacks. The so-called secret "kill team" was part of a Stryker brigade based in Kandahar in southern Afghanistan. All soldiers have denied the charges and could face the death penalty if convicted by the army's court system.
