Seventeen editor-in-chief Michelle Tan was fired while on maternity leave, according to Women's Wear Daily. After close to two years in the top position at the American teen magazine, published by the Hearst Corporation, Tan was let go without a formal announcement or a statement about who was to replace her. Tan joined Hearst in November 2014 after working as the special projects editor for Time Inc.'s People magazine. While at Hearst, Tan worked under Seventeen's editorial director, Joanna Coles, who also serve as the editor in chief for Cosmopolitan. A Hearst spokeswoman declined WWD's requrest for comment, but confirmed that Tan was no longer with the company.
