What does superstar Shakira have in common with Barack and Joe? The Colombian singer apparently shares their interest in childhood development and education. Shakira visited the White House early Monday morning in one of a number of stops she was making in the nation's capital to promote education efforts in the developing world. Shakira is no stranger to this White House; she endorsed Obama during the election and performed at his inauguration. Shakira, who works with the ALAS Foundation, also met with World Bank President Robert Zoellick to launch the "Early Childhood Initiative: An Investment for Life," which will provide $300 million for early childhood development programs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
