A manhunt is underway in Washington state for an individual who shot a Sikh man in the arm after telling him, “go back to your country.” The incident in Kent is being probed as a hate crime. A Sikh community leader in Seattle told CNN that the victim is a U.S. citizen and originally from India. The gunman allegedly approached the victim in his driveway on Friday, questioning him about cleaning his car before calling him names and pushing him to the ground. The victim was released from the hospital on Saturday and is expected to make a full recovery. In addition to police officials in Washington state, the FBI said it had joined the investigation. The incident in Washington state followed a similar attack in Kansas in February, in which a man shouting “get out of my country” shot and killed an Indian immigrant.
