Police sources have said that that Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michele Knight—the kidnapped women who were rescued in Cleveland on Monday night—were forced to have sex with the men who held them captive, which resulted in as many as five pregnancies. While Berry gave birth to a daughter while in captivity, the other babies, sources say, did not survive. One source even said that the pregnant girls were beaten by their captors, but what exactly happened after the pregnancies is still unclear. As the FBI searches the Cleveland home where the three women were found, they’re also keeping another missing girl in mind: Ashley Summers, who disappeared in 2007 at age 14. Though she was first presumed a runaway, two years after Summers’s disappearance the FBI decided to include her in Berry’s and DeJesus’s investigation.
