A brave Spanish court is taking on China. The country's top criminal court judges ruled to hear a case against China's former President Hu Jintao for committing genocide in Tibet. One of the activists pressing the lawsuit is Tibetan monk Thubten Wangchen, who is also a Spanish citizen. Jintao was president of China until March and led the Communist Party in Tibet when China imposed martial law after mass protests. The case claims Jintao was responsbile for plans "eliminating the uniqueness and existence of Tibet as a country, imposing martial law, carrying out forced deportations, mass sterilisation campaigns, torture of dissidents."
