When theater's biggest awards show airs tonight, get ready to rock. This year's telecast is set to heavily feature rock 'n' roll, as all four nominees for Best Musical place it front and center. The top award for musicals is favored to go to Memphis, the most traditional of the bunch and the only one of the four nominees to have an original score written for the theater. Its competition includes Fela!, the critically praised biography of Nigerian musician Fela Kuti; American Idiot; the stage adaptation of a 2004 Green Day album; and the ‘50s-themed Million Dollar Quarter. The telecast, airing at 8 p.m. EST tonight on CBS and hosted by former Will & Grace star Sean Hayes, will also feature a slew of Hollywood celebrities nominated for their Broadway turns, among them Jude Law, Laura Linney, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Scarlett Johansson. Hayes, also nominated for his role in the musical Promises, Promises, follows in the footsteps of Neil Patrick Harris, who hosted the show last year and scored high ratings.
