Police said a senior State Department official was arrested for allegedly soliciting sex from a minor, Fox News reported Tuesday. Daniel Rosen, the director of counterterrorism programs and policy for the State Department, was arrested by a detective in Washington, D.C.’s Child Exploitation Unit. The detective had been posing as a minor and corresponding online with Rosen, police said. Rosen was charged with one count of use of a communications device to solicit a juvenile, but it was not clear if he was still incarcerated or had posted bail. Police said the State Department had been notified of Rosen’s arrest, but a spokesperson had no further information, according to Fox News.
