Steve Jobs triumphs over all: The Apple CEO has triumphed over preservationists who have tried to prevent him from demolishing a historic California mansion that he’s owned since 1984. Jobs has been trying to tear down the 14-bedroom, 13-and-a-half-bath house and replace it with a new mansion since 2001, but a group called Uphold Our Heritage has fought his efforts. In March, a judge upheld Jobs’ demolition permit; this week, Uphold Our Heritage dropped its appeal of the permit. Jobs has not replied to a proposal by the group to dismantle the mansion and move it to a new site two miles away.
