The storm system that stretched across the U.S. this week dumped up to two feet of snow and left behind frigid temperatures, crippled airports, and damaged buildings. Wind chills are expected to fall to 30 degrees below zero farenheit in much of the Midwest; large parts of Texas are under a hard-freeze warning. In Connecticut, the third floor of a building failed, collapsing the building and knocking down trees. A gas station on New York's Long Island collapsed, and an airplane hangar in Boston caved in. The University of Connecticut has closed its hockey rink because of the amount of snow and ice on the roof. The storm led to about 13,000 flight cancellations, slightly higher than the post-Christmas blizzard that shut down the Northeast.
