The first edition of the new Sun on Sunday has rolled off the press and hit newsstands in Britain. Rupert Murdoch oversaw the launch himself in an attempt to rejuvenate his media empire amid the ongoing phone-hacking investigation that’s plagued News Corp. Media commentator Roy Greenslade told BBC the new paper was “bland” and that “Sunday papers are going out of fashion anyway.” Former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie agreed, but said, “This is not trying to be the News of the World with the Sun logo on it," referring to the former tabloid that Murdoch shuttered at the peak of the hacking scandal.
