Did you see that? Yes, we did. Everybody did. Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLVI broke the record to become the most-watched show in TV history. More than 111.3 million people saw the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 21–17 on NBC, edging out last year’s 111 million viewers on Fox and the 106.5 million the year before that on CBS. The M*A*S*H finale in 1983 ranks fourth. After the game, 36.7 million people stayed up to watch the second-season premiere of the singing talent show The Voice, which became the highest-rated nonsports telecast in six years.
