A new survey claims that 30 percent of female U.S. physicians have experienced direct sexual harassment during their careers. By comparison, only 4 percent of men said the same. The report, published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, surveyed a total of 1,066 doctors and found 70 percent of women perceived a gender bias in the medical industry. Most of those surveyed were in the middle of their careers, and the respondents had an average age of 43. All of the participants had been deemed top-achieving physicians by the National Institutes of Health.
