The wheels of justice are in motion in Montgomery County, Maryland, where authorities are making progress in their investigation of the April murder of D.C. Principal Brian Betts. Police have taken into custody an unidentified 46-year-old woman and issued two search warrants in the D.C. area. Though not actually charged with murder, the woman is being held on charges “related to the Betts investigation,” according to a Montgomery police spokeswoman. As The Daily Beast’s Benjamin Sarlin reported, Betts, a hugely popular educator whose death has left his community shaken, was found dead from a gunshot wound in his Silver Spring home on April 15. An initial eyewitness report suggested two suspects.
