Authorities confirmed late Monday that they have arrested a person of interest in Houston in connection to the shooting of a state district judge in Austin. "The arrest was for unrelated charges," an Austin police official said. Police declined to make any further comments because of an ongoing investigation. Judge Julie Kocurek was shot on Friday in the driveway of her home and was later listed in stable condition at an area hospital. Authorities said they believed the shooter was seeking revenge. Kocurek, a former prosecutor, was appointed to the 390th District Court by then-Gov. George W. Bush in 1999 and was the presiding felony judge for the county.
