The man arrested late Monday night in connection with Saturday’s Times Square bomb scare is already cooperating with authorities, a law-enforcement source tells Reuters. Faisal Shahzad, a 30-year-old native of Pakistan who became a U.S. citizen last year, has “admitted to buying the truck, putting the devices together, putting them in the truck, leaving the truck there and leaving the scene,” the source says. “He's claimed to have acted alone. He did admit to all the charges, so to speak.” Shahzad, who reportedly denies links to any radical Pakistani groups, was arrested at New York’s JFK Airport. He was nabbed "at the last second," a source tells CNN—the Emirates flight he was on, headed to Dubai, had to return to the gate for authorities to make the arrest—in part thanks to tracking of his cellphone usage, Politico reports. It is not clear whether authorities believe the statements made by Shahzad, who is set to appear in court Tuesday. “Based on our collective experience, it's hard to really believe that this is something someone would do on their own,” the Reuters source says. “It seems hard to pull off alone.”
