Police in Santa Ana, California, say they have arrested several people in connection with a hit-and-run car crash in which three teenage trick-or-treaters were killed Halloween night. Police declined to release any details on the arrests, but had earlier said they were looking for the driver and another person who were in a Honda CR-V that plowed into the teenagers and then fled the scene. Twin sisters Lexia and Lexandra Perez, 13, and their friend Andrea Gonzalez, also 13, were struck by a driver “going a high rate of speed” while they were in a crosswalk, police said. All three were declared dead at the scene. The driver and a passenger of the SUV that struck the girls abandoned the vehicle in a nearby parking lot, police said.
