Syria’s foreign minister said Thursday that Damascus is ready to participate in Geneva peace talks in an effort to form a national unity government. During a visit to Beijing, Walid al-Moualem said he told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that Syria was “ready to participate in the Syrian-Syrian dialogue in Geneva without any foreign interference.” The UN Security Council on Friday unanimously passed a resolution endorsing an international plan for a Syrian peace process. “Our delegation will be ready as soon as we receive a list of the opposition delegation,” Moualem said.
