Tampa-area fire captain Alfred Schaffer has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges for embezzling more than $187,000 from a children's charity that was founded by his father. He faces up to 20 years in prison under terms of the plea agreement filed in U.S. District Court in Tampa. The Hope Children’s Home is described as a home for the “discarded, abused, unwanted or orphaned.” It’s funded through donations from churches, clubs, organizations and individuals.
