An 18-year-old was found guilty by a Georgia jury of an especially cold-blooded crime: shooting a 13-month-old between the eyes in an attempted robbery in Brunswick, Georgia. De'Marquise Elkins was convicted for the boy’s murder after trying to rob the mother, Sherry West, in March. When she refused, she was shot in the leg and the child was killed. Elkin’s mother was also found guilty of evidence tampering, but acquitted for lying to police. Another teen involved will be tried for murder later.
