Three women were found dead in a Long Island home early Saturday in what police have described as a targeted attack. The victims were described in local reports as a mother, her daughter, and a visiting family friend. A fourth victim of the attack at the home in Hempstead managed to escape and was reportedly found hiding in a neighbor’s backyard. She was listed in stable condition with undisclosed injuries at a local hospital on Saturday. Lt. Richard LeBrun, spokesman for the Nassau County Police Department, said the victims died of blunt force trauma. LeBrun said investigators have a person of interest in the case, but he stopped short of providing any specifics.
