At least one person is dead and 17 others were injured after a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed and then caught on fire near the Belgian city of Ghent on Saturday. The fire spread over hundreds of meters away from the derailment, and toxic fumes from the blaze caused nearly 300 people to be evacuated from their homes. Many of the victims did not even live close to the accident site, Belgium’s interior minister said.
