Amazon Studios’ first TV series, Transparent, won Best TV Series, Musical, or Comedy at the Golden Globes on Sunday evening, following a historic Best Actress in a Comedy victory by Gina Rodriguez for Jane the Virgin, The CW’s first ever Golden Globe. Jeffrey Tambor, Transparent’s star, later won Best Actor. Other winners included The Affair for Best TV Drama, the anti-Putin film Leviathan for Best Foreign Film, Amy Adams for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy for Big Eyes, Maggie Gyllenhaal for The Honorable Woman, FX’s Fargo for Best TV Miniseries or Movie, Billy Bob Thornton for Best Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie for Fargo (beating out Matthew McConaughey in True Detective), and Joanne Froggatt for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for Downton Abbey.
