Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump said on Sunday the Middle East would be better off if Saddam Hussein and Muaummar Gaddafi were still in power in Iraq and Libya. When asked on NBC's Meet The Press if the region would be more stable with Hussein and Gaddafi in power, Trump answered, "It's not even a contest." The real estate mogul suggested that removing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad from power would produce a similar "mess" to the ones in Libya and Iraq. Trump also reiterated his support for Russian airstrikes in Syria. President Obama warned on Friday that Moscow could be sucked into a "quagmire" by defending Assad in Syria.
