Donald Trump may have violated IRS rules by using a charity’s money to buy himself a football helmet signed by Tim Tebow. The item was purchased at a live auction during a January 2012 breast-cancer charity fundraiser in Palm Beach, Florida. He won the helmet with a $12,000 bid, but Trump reportedly paid with money from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, The Washington Post reported Friday. A spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen organization, which hosted the party, said it has never received a personal gift of cash from Trump. The Donald J. Trump Foundation is a charity the real-estate mogul founded in 1987. It is, for the most part, stocked with financial gifts from other people. At the time of the auction, Trump hadn’t given any of his own money to the foundation for at least three years.
