President Donald Trump has confirmed that he will visit London and meet with Prime Minister Theresa May, promising “a very powerful” trade deal after the talks. Ahead of a meeting with May on the sidelines of the G-20 summit on Saturday, Trump said the deal would be signed “very very quickly,” though he gave no further details. “I think trade will be a very big factor between our two countries,” he said. Although his visit to the U.K. has not officially been scheduled, Trump confirmed that he would be “going to London,” saying the two sides would “work that out” when asked about the timing for the trip. Trump also praised the “very special relationship” he has with May. “There is no country that could possibly be closer than our countries,” he told reporters. Trump’s planned trip to the U.K. has been in doubt in recent weeks, after his public spat with London Mayor Sadiq Khan renewed calls to cancel his visit.
