President Donald Trump’s approval rating has tanked to 36 percent as he approaches six months in office, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. Up five points since April, 58 percent of Americans now say they disapprove of Trump’s performance as president, while 48 percent “disapprove strongly”—a number never reached by Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, and only once by President George W. Bush. The poll also found that nearly half of Americans do not trust Trump in negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while the same percentage of Americans believe the U.S.’s standing in the world has weakened since Trump became commander-in-chief.
