Could a tweet be to blame for the near-riot on Hollywood Boulevard last night? An invitation-only premiere of Electric Daisy Carnival Experience, a movie about one of the nation's largest raves, got out of hand when hundreds of uninvited fans descended on the block party. Police set up a makeshift jail to detain unruly partiers, and two people were arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism after the windshields and roofs of three police cruisers were smashed. A deejay known as Kaskade may be the culprit. Yesterday afternoon he tweeted to his 90,000 followers: “ME+BIG SPEAKERS+MUSIC=BLOCK PARTY!!!” At 7:30 he tweeted, “News choppers overhead. The man trying to shut us down. Hang on I am coming!!!" But a short time later he had changed his tune, writing, “EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HOME NOW! I DON'T WANT THIS TO REFLECT BADLY ON EDM OR WHAT WE ARE.”
