Stephen Griffiths, a 40-year-old Ph.D. student in the U.K., has been charged with the murder of three prostitutes in the last 11 months, in what is turning out to be a grisly serial-killer case. The accused is said to be responsible for the deaths of Susan Rushworth, Shelley Armitage, and Suzanne Blamires, who was shot with a crossbow before being “severely dismembered” and dumped into a river. The search continues for the bodies of the other two women. The killings resemble the actions of the Yorkshire Ripper, who was convicted of 13 murders, also in Bradford's red light district. Griffiths had been treated for psychiatric problems at a high-security hospital.
