The U.K. Parliament is expected to be recalled Friday to vote on airstrikes against ISIS, according to reports from the BBC. The Iraqi prime minister is expected to formally request that the U.K. join in the airstrikes on Wednesday. Prime Minister David Cameron had said the fight against ISIS is one “you cannot opt out of,” but his Labour counterpart has been less gung-ho. “How will I judge any proposal? Whether Britain can have an effect, whether we can succeed and whether it is legitimate and lawful,” said Ed Miliband, but he did add, “I am open to the possibility.” The fight against ISIS escalated Monday night when a U.S.-led coalition against forces in Syria began. Britain has been struck by ISIS with the execution of aid worker David Haines and the recent release of an audio file from the captive Alan Henning.
