The United Nations Security Council unanimously approved a resolution Wednesday expanding sanctions against North Korea in response to its January nuclear test. Under the new rules—which were largely drafted by the U.S. and China—all cargo headed to and from the isolated rogue state must be inspected and North Korean trade representatives have been added to a UN blacklist. Prior to this crackdown, states would inspect cargo only if they had reason to suspect it contained criminal goods.
